We can never escape failures as long as we are alive. All we can do is use them in our own benefit. Every successful man was once a big loser who just learned how to deal with failures and move forward.
This article is about only 4 steps on how to deal with failures. According to Sandeep Maheshwari, a CEO and famous motivational speaker, you come out even stronger if you just follow these 4 steps properly.
“Failure is a detour, not a dead-end street.”
– Zig Zagler
I can’t promise that you will have made peace your failure by the end of this article. You have to understand the goal of each step and must fight yourself to achieve that goal. Once you have completed all these 4 goals as per the instructions then you will definitely have become a stronger version of yourself.
1. Face It
In first of four steps on how to deal with failures, you must face your failure. How can you face your failure? I can tell from personal experience that you have to understand that it is YOU who failed.
Don’t try to make excuses or blame it on others. Try to understand the failure to its root by detaching yourself from it like it is someone else’s scenario.
“Failure only defeats losers. It inspires winners.”
Look for the real reason where you lacked and caused you this failure. Once you have identified the problem within yourself then move on to the next step.
2. Accept It
You have to fully accept the fact that you have failed in the second of four steps on how to deal failures. Don’t run away or hide when others point finger at you.
“Accept it! yes, I failed. But not in life, only in this particular task or case.”
– Sandeep Maheshwari
Cry if you have to. Take your anger out. There is nothing wrong in crying even if you are the manliest man on earth. Failing in one thing doesn’t mean you failed in life or you are a loser. Your time will come and you will bring your own time by facing, accepting and learning from this hit.
3. Learn from It
You are failing that is not important. You are winning that is not important. The important thing is what you are becoming from inside with these losses and wins.
Now that you have faced a loss. It’s an opportunity for you to learn from it. Identify where you lacked or where you are weak and fix it.
“If you learn from defeat, you haven’t really lost.”
– Zig Ziglar
With all the wins and losses, you should become so powerful from inside that nothing should scare you anymore. So powerful, that you can build an empire from scratch.
4. Grow Out of It
Once you have faced your failure, accepted it, and learned from it then it’s about time that you grow out of it so no other failure would ever be able to hurt you.
What you need to understand is the difference in Goal and Purpose.
You wanted something. Whether you get it or not, that was not your purpose. That was your goal.
Your purpose is to move forward in life whether you got what you wanted or not. In either case, you have to grow out of it otherwise you won’t be able to progress in life.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
– Winston Churchill
