Pakistan is a South Asian country bordering China and India. This country is home to the 6th largest population of the world with a unique culture and language of its own. It has recently gained a lot of attraction from the international tourist for its large mountains, beautiful lakes, and delicious food. Pakistani food and ingredients are different from the rest of the world, however, somewhat similar to India.

Biryani: Most Famous in Pakistani Food

Biryani is rice cooked with any meat, mostly with chicken. It is the most famous and most ordered food of Pakistan. The real magic lays in how it is cooked and spices used in it. Halwa Puri

Halwa Puri is mostly eaten for breakfast. It includes two separately cooked items that are served together. One is ‘Halwa’ which is a sweet dish made of Semolina. Other is ‘Puri’ which is kind of a bread made of kneaded wheat flour. Usually, chickpea curry is also served with this dish that further makes it finger-licking good. Samosa

Samosa can be referred to as Desi fast food. It is not very expensive and easily available on Pakistani food stalls. A samosa comprises boiled potatoes meshed with various spices that are put inside the layer of kneaded wheat flour. It is then deep fried in oil until we get a crunchy layer of brown color. Samosa is served with a variety of sauces, most commonly with yogurt sauce just like shown in the image above.


Haleem

Haleem is basically Split Bengal Gram simmered with shredded meat. This dish takes a lot of time and expertise to cook. Haleem is the most common lunch in Lahore for in local hotels. It is usually eaten with a Naan or Roti and served with a number of topping options that include lemons, fried onions, sauces, and spices as shown in the image above. These toppings are also to be used carefully according to the taste or you won’t be able to enjoy Haleem to its fullest.

Kheer: Sweet Pakistani Food
